  2. THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNET PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

  6. CATAGORIES
  7. People - Send in your best "people" work. Portraits, action shots, kids,
  8.   whatever. Works will be adjudicated on composition, effective use of
  9.   lighting, emotional impact and general photographic quality as determined
  10.   by our judges.
  11. Places - We want to see your grandest mountain vistas, your moodiest urban
  12.   landscapes. Works will be adjudicated on composition, effective use of
  13.   lighting, emotional impact and general photographic quality as determined
  14.   by our judges.
  15. Small Wonders - Flowers, butterflies, thumbtacks or your thumb. Take a little
  16.   time to send us a little gem. Photomicrographs of vitamin C or pinholes of
  17.   pebbles. If it's bigger than a breadbox, it's too big for this category.
  18.   Works will be adjudicated on composition, effective use of lighting,
  19.   emotional impact and general photographic quality as determined by our
  20.   judges.
  21. Digitally Altered Photos - Go crazy with this one, or use some subtle pixel
  22.   filters. Either way, amaze us with your light fantastic. Images will be
  23.   adjudicated on their "wow" factor by our judges. If appropriate, submit a
  24.   copy of the image before the digital touch-ups are made.
  25. Humour - Humour says it all. Photos will be judged on their ability to crack
  26.   up the judges.

  29. DEADLINE
  30.   May 31st, 1994. Winning entries and honourable mentions will be displayed
  31.   in the July issue of International Teletimes. Teletimes can be read on the
  32.   WWW at http://www.wimsey.com/teletimes.root/teletimes_home_page.html or by
  33.   FTP at fir.cic.net in the /pub/Zines/Intl_Teletimes directory.

  36. ENTRY FEE
  37.   Please write out a check or money order to "International Teletimes" for
  38.   $10 in US funds for every 3 photographs entered. There is no limit (except
  39.   your bank balance) to the number of photos you can enter. Our mail addess
  40.   is given below, in the ENTRY METHODS section. You may also electronically
  41.   wire the money directly to our account at the VanCity Credit Union in
  42.   Vancouver, Canada. All entries will be witheld until the entry fee is
  43.   payed.

  46. PRIZES
  47.   1st place contestants in each catagory are guaranteed a fantastic colour
  48.   Teletimes tee shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded pending sufficient
  49.   entries. We are also looking for corporate sponsors to help with the
  50.   prizes. Stay tuned.

  53. ENTRY METHODS
  54. FTP - Scanned entries may be submitted to wimsey.com in the /pub/photon_94
  55.   directory. Be sure to e-mail us with the name of the files you have put on
  56.   the FTP site. Acceptable file formats are TIFF, GIF, PICT and JPEG.
  57. E-mail - If you are concerned about leaving your entry in a public directory,
  58.   you may e-mail your entries to editor@teletimes.com. Files must be
  59.   uuencoded. Acceptable file formats are TIFF, GIF, PICT and JPEG.
  60. Mail - If you do not have access to a scanner, you may send prints to:
  61.   Teletimes Photo Contest, 3938 W. 30th Ave., Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6S 1X3.
  62.   If you enclose a return mailer with appropriate Canadian postage affixed,
  63.   we will make every effort to get it back to you, but we can make no
  64.   promises. Therefore, DO NOT SEND IN ORIGINALS OR VALUABLE GALLERY QUALITY
  65.   PRINTS. Send "reproduction" quality RC prints, or any prints that you won't
  66.   go crazy over if they are lost or destroyed. Hard copy images must measure
  67.   11"x14" or smaller, and have the entrant's name, address and phone number
  68.   affixed to the back of the image.
